Obituary for Aaron J. Eidem

Aaron J. Eidem
Captain Aaron Joseph Eidem, age 37, of Webb City, MO. passed away on Thursday February 18, 2016, from injuries sustained in an auto pedestrian accident. He gave the ultimate sacrifice while trying to help other people.
Aaron was born on April 29, 1978 in Steamboat Springs, CO, the son of Michael Eidem and Valerie (Gocken) Eidem. He grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO. and Auburn, WA. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1996. Immediately after graduation, he entered the Army and went to basic training at Fort Hood, GA, before beginning active duty at Fort McClellan, AL. Aaron received his Bachelor of Science degree from MSSU, and later his Master’s Degree through military programs. He served at duty stations both foreign and stateside, including one tour in the Baltic areas and three tours in Iraq. He was recognized for his leadership and excellence in performing his duties. At the time of his death, his rank was Captain. His current duty station was as an adjunct faculty member and assistant professor of military science at MSU in Springfield, MO, supporting the ROTC Unit.
On September 22, 1997 Aaron married the love of his life, Amber Black. At the time of his passing they were raising three young children together. He was a devoted husband and father. He made it a priority to spend as much time as he could with his family. He enjoyed hunting, especially with his dad. It wasn’t so much the hunting of wildlife that he enjoyed, but the experience and memories that he was making with his dad. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and had a strong passion for woodworking. Having long visits with his grandfather Wilson, who also had a long military career, was also among his favorite things to do. He and Amber were members of the Risen Ranch Church, Carthage, MO.
He is survived by his wife Amber Eidem, Webb City, MO.; three children, Shae Hogan, Skyler Eidem, and Kaden Eidem, all of the home; his mother Valerie Eidem, Auburn, WA; his father and step-mother, Michael and Bonnie Eidem, Kingman, KS.; his sister, Elissa (Eidem) Berg and her husband Ryan and children, Pooler, GA.; his adopted brother, Aaron Jeffrey Eidem and his wife Heather and family, Charleston, SC; his mother-in-law Sheri Black, Webb City, MO.; his grandfather, Harold Wilson, Kingman, KS.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by grandmothers, Joyce Bakke Gleason and Margaret Wilson; and great grandparents, G.E. and Margaret Bakke.
We ask that you remember our beloved son, husband, father, uncle, and friend to many in supporting organ donations/transplants at Gofundme.com/pp-pymz3n. The site is Donate Life America.
