My mom, Vicki Bradley, works at the school district and she told me this morning of Mr. Metsker's passing - I was SO sad. I had him in 8th grade for science and I think a history class, too. He always had kind words, words of advice and a joke to tell, along with all of the stories about being in the service. He always made us all laugh and treated us with respect, which made us treat him with respect, too. I remember the pet tarantula we had and him letting us play paper football at the big table in the back if we finished our homework in class instead of waiting to do it. I also remember the war stories and his laugh when he'd get to the punchline. We were always right there cracking up with him. Metsker really did make an impact on us all - I want you all to know that. And I also want to thank you for sharing him with us, because he really did make a difference. Sometimes, you know how it is, teachers are really authoritative and you don't really feel like you get very close to them, but Metsker wasn't like that at all. I don't think I ever heard anyone say anything bad about the man, because he was just awesome. Definitely one of a kind and he will DEFINITELY be missed. You all are in our prayers - heaven's really gained a good one. :) Love and hugs!
