Mary Elizabeth Huthsing, age 72, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Mary was born on May 13, 1946 in Lake Forest, Il., the daughter of John and Mary (Adams) Tomei. She spent her days loving and caring for her family as a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Joplin. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

She married Charles Keet Huthsing III, on August 10, 1965, he preceded Mary in death on October 21, 2014. Mary was also preceded by her parents and by her daughter, Amber Huthsing-Gripp.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Huthsing and fiancé Ashley Dreyvanko, Jon Huthsing and wife Liz; a daughter, Bridget Sparlin and husband Ron; all of Joplin, a sister, Esther Baartz of Waukegan, Il.; and nine grandchildren, Tanner Lindell, Tyler Haldeman, Hannah Sparlin, Colton Huthsing, Hunter Huthsing, Kate Huthsing, Cameron Huthsing, Gabe Huthsing and Rose Huthsing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Joplin Area Catholic Schools in care of the mortuary.

The family will be holding privately held services at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
