L. Earlene Hinds, age 86 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Earlene was born on October 10, 1931 in Mound Valley, Ks., the daughter of Earl and Lucy (Hanchett) Lacen. Earlene has been a long-time area resident, she spent her days loving and caring for her family as a homemaker.

She married Max Hinds in 1946; he preceded her in death. Earlene was also preceded by her parents, two sons, Lonnie Hinds and Larry Hinds, and by her brother, Bill Lacen. Survivors include two granddaughters; Gretchen Judah and husband Jay of Webb City, Mo., Cynthia Olmstead and husband Mike of Joplin, her daughter-in-law; Patricia Hinds of Webb City, and three great-grandchildren; Max Judah, Oliver Judah and Jude Sweet.

Graveside services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Union Cemetery near Stella, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
