Barbara L. Tubbs, age 68, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. Barbara was born October 3, 1949 in King City, Mo. She moved to Joplin in December 1988 from Barnard, Mo. Barbara received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Crowder College. She was employed with St. John’s Regional Medical Center for 11 years, retiring in 2011. Barbara was a member of Villa Heights Christian Church. She headed the Women’s Ministry, was Chairman of the Fellowship Committee, and active in Children’s Ministry. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Spring River Christian Village, and American Rehabilitation Ministry.

Barbara married Ron Tubbs April 9, 1971 in Barnard, Mo. and he survives. Additional survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Routledge (Jeff), Duenweg, Mo., Michelle Petersen (Rob), Joplin, and Andrea Stapleton, Carl Junction, Mo., one sister, Charlotte Bowen (Lee), Barnard, Mo., five brothers, Raymond Leader (Annette) St. Joseph, Mo., Joe Leader (Andrea), Guilford, Mo., Ed Leader, Hopkins, Mo., Ron Leader (Karen), Maryville, Mo., and
John Leader (Lisa), Olathe, Ks. and four grandchildren, Lydia Routledge, Megan Petersen, Robby Petersen, and Lucas Wahl.

Barbara has been taken for cremation. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Villa Heights Christian Church with Truman Brady Minister, officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to Villa Heights Christian Church in care of the Mortuary. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
