Obituary for Gerald L. Jackson

Gerald L.  Jackson
Gerald “Jerry” Luster Jackson, age 75, of Joplin, Mo passed from this life on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Spring River Christian Village, following a short illness.

Jerry was born on January 30, 1941 in Joplin, Mo the second son of Theodore Gerald and Fern June “Potts” Jackson. After graduating from high school, he served in the Air Force. He met and married Mary Lane in Cleveland, OH. To this union two children were born, Gerald Jackson, Jr. and Michael Jackson. While in Cleveland Jerry worked for Jones and Laughlin Steel Company. After relocating to Denver, CO he was employed by the University Hospital. Throughout his life Gerry was a fun loving person with personality and charm. He never met a stranger.

Preceding him in death by his father, Theodore Gerald Jackson, brother, Donald Floyd Jackson, sister, Janis Lee Jones and son, Gerald Jackson, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Fern Jackson of Joplin; his brother, Theodore W. Jackson of Denver, CO; his son Michael and wife Mary of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren Marc, Myles, Madison, Yasmine, and Michala and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and very dear friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 6, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel. The Reverend Troy Webb will officiate. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
