Nancy L. Young, 64 of Oronogo, Mo. went to be with the Lord Saturday March 2, 2013 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo., surrounded by family and friends.
She was born February 24, 1949 in Iowa Falls, IA., to Gerald and Alice (Allen) Vanderwerf. She married Ronald A. Young on November 29, 1969 in Des Monies IA.
Nancy spent most of her life work as a dedicated, loving, and loyal home executive to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her husband of 43 years, Ronald Young; children Michael (Kristina) Young, Des Moines, IA., Christina Ailes, Oronogo, Mo.; Grandchildren, Matthew Ailes, Creston, IA., Jonathon Young, Des Moines, IA., Kaylah and Hannah Ailes, Oronogo, Mo., Joshua and Jenna Young, Des Moines, IA., her brothers Dennis Vanderwerf, Des Moines, IA., and Donald Vanderwerf, Omaha, NE. and her father Gerald Vanderwerf, Des Moines, IA..
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Vanderwerf.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday March 7, 2013 at Royal Heights Methodist Church, 1612 E Euclid, Joplin, Mo. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
The family request in lieu of flowers that contribution be made to the March of Dimes in care of the mortuary.
